Meta-Skills

In this unique 4-session "round table" event, the Kid teach Kid panel will share their individual perspectives on how to develop high leverage Meta Skills that help student stand out in high school.  The Learnings from this special session will help the participants maximize their time and efficiency in 4 key areas of high school life.

Stephanie is a senior at Seven Lakes High School, a 2021 RSI scholar and an incoming freshman at Harvard University. She serves as the Kid Teach Kid President of Education. She is deeply passionate about leveraging science and technology to bridge the educational divide. 


Isabella is a senior at Westlake High School, a 2021 RSI scholar, MOP Qualifier, and an incoming freshman at MIT. She serves as the Kid Teach Kid President of Public Relations and Outreach. She has been a part of Kid Teach Kid since its beginnings in 2020, and enjoys teaching a variety of topics, such as competition math and test prep.


Andy is a senior at Westwood High School, and an incoming freshman at MIT. He serves as the Kid Teach Kid President of Operations. He hopes that his time at Kid Teach Kid allows him to share his passion in math and coding with others.


Rich is a junior at Clements High School, MOP Qualifier, and a 2022 RSI scholar. He serves as the Kid Teach Kid President of Technology. He's passionate about math and technology, and enjoys participating in math and coding competitions. What really drives him is his love for helping others and making a difference to kids just like him.


Rowechen is a senior at Westwood High School, MOP Qualifier, US Physics Team Qualifier, and an incoming freshman at MIT. He is also an avid mathematics, physics and computer science competitor. Rowechen has been an instructor at Kid Teach Kid since 2020.


Sage is a rising sophomore at Clements High School. She serves as the Kid Teach Kid President of Content Development. Sage was a 2x Gold Key Winner for the Scholastic Art and Writing Competition. In addition to writing, she has also enjoyed math and computer science contests, playing the cello, and music composition.

USACO Bronze

In this computer science class, you will learn techniques and methods that are important to know in order to pass USACO Bronze. We will solve many problems to help you develop intuition for solving USACO-like problems. This class will be taught in Java, and it is recommended to have an IDE such as IntelliJ or Eclipse installed. Note that this class will focus on teaching problem-solving concepts for USACO, not teaching a programming language.

Arnan is a junior at Clements High School. He is an AIME Qualifier and a participant in the Gold division of USACO. He is very passionate about math and computer science and enjoys participating in competitions. In his free time, Arnan likes to play tennis and solve Rubik's cubes.

Vishal Surya Picture
Instructor: Vishal Surya

Vishal Surya is a rising sophomore from Seven Lakes High School, Texas, and will be teaching the Biology Course. Vishal loves biology, more specifically, neuroscience, and believes that the lessons taught in biology should be intuitive to help process information needed in the real world and in competitions. Vishal is heavily involved in Science Olympiad, winning numerous medals, and acting as one of the captains of the Beckendorff Science Olympiad team. Furthermore, he is a USABO Semifinalist and competes in Lincoln-Douglas debate. Outside of academics, you can catch him listening to music or playing a game of basketball with his friends.

Tanya Wu is a sophomore at DuPont Manual High School. She participates in her school's quick recall and Science Olympiad teams. She enjoys hanging out with friends, playing badminton, and learning new things. She is very excited to teach a course in this year's camp!

Forensics

course description: In this class, we will cover the basics of forensic science and the science of crime investigation. The topics of this class ranges from fingerprint identification and classification, to etymology, to DNA analysis. This class is does not need any experience in forensic sciences.

Yiming Zhu Picture
Instructor: Yiming Zhu

Yiming is a rising freshman in the 2022-2023 school year at Seven Lakes High School. She is a forensics enthusiast who has won numerous medals in Science Olympiad including placing 5th nationally in Crime Busters. Other than forensics, she also likes to learn about biology and chemistry. In her free time she likes to watch cooking shows and play the oboe.

Day 1- What is Forensics and the Identification of Fingerprints

AMC 10

In this course, we will explore various topics in intermediate mathematics with the aim of equipping students with the theoretical foundation they need to turn a borderline or sub-qualifying AMC 10 score into an Honor Roll or Distinguished Honor Roll score. To do so, we will look at some concepts and questions that have appeared on the more challenging side of AMC contests in an interactive and instructive manner.

Instructor: Aryan Bora

Aryan is a rising junior at Clements High School. He is passionate about mathematics and the sciences, and is excited to be coaching for Kid Teach Kid this year. He is a USAJMO Winner, 3x AIME Qualifier, 2x USABO Semifinalist, and USACO Gold participant who enjoys competing with his school's Science Olympiad and Science Bowl teams. In his free time, Aryan enjoys watching movies, playing tennis with friends, and hiking outdoors.

Debate

This class is an introduction to the basics of public speaking, LD debate, and impromptu speaking. You will be debating on the political and economic state of the world right now and topics students can relate to. We will teach students how to win arguments with facts and logic.

Aidan Zhu
Instructors: Harvey Zhu and Aidan Zhu

Harvey is a rising senior at Strake Jesuit College Preparatory. He has been debating for 7 years, championed a few tournaments, and has qualified for State twice. Additionally, he enjoys painting, playing chess, browsing Spotify, and watching anime.


Aidan is a rising senior at Dulles High School. He is the Public Forum Debate captain for the Dulles Debate team and has qualified for both the Texas State Tournament and the NSDA National tournament two years in a row. In his free time, Aidan enjoys swimming and watching anime.
